Kim Komenich Talk

Journalism 61 Students:

Kim Komenich, SJSU mass communications assistant professor, will be the guest speaker from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday in the Martin Luther King, Jr., Library room 225/229 (adjoining rooms). Komenich will be part of the spring University Scholar Series hosted by provost Ellen Junn. The event is free and open to the public.


Assignment: Listen to Komenich talk and ask questions based on his lecture if you have the opportunity. Writer a feature story based on what he has to say and include information in your story about his career as a photojournalist for the San Francisco Chronicle and San Francisco Examiner and his 1987 Pulitzer Prize in Spot News Photography for photographs of the Philippine Revolution.


Your hard copy feature is due at the beginning of class on the Monday after spring break. Write a minimum of 400 words being sure to include direct quotes from the lecture and background information on Komenich.
